Another Cool Red Gate Project - SQL Packager

I've posted about these guys before, but Red Gate puts out some great tools for SQL.  Their latest, SQL Packager will generate a .NET exe or even a Visual Studio Solution that will allow the user to install or update an existing deployed database with your applications.   Pretty cool stuff!

Redgates sql tools for SQL are superb - the new SQl packager is so easy to use and makes life so easy if you want to script tables/sprocs/even data quickly and you can create an exe to run which is very neat.

You can take copies of databases and create new ones from the copy so this is very useful if you want to implement changes.

Highly recommended tool - try the demo if you want to see for yourself.

Cheers

$690 for this tool that simply adds another feature to their existing sql compare product. wtf?

what exactly is "cool" about this? red-gate needs to do a better job of masking blatant attempts to shill on blogs. this previous post looks reads like an infomercial

Well, it's not often that a toolset comes a long that does exactly what it's supposed to do, the first time you use it, with no surprises.

I was a little bummed that we'd have to buy this on top of our 5 user license for the "SQL Bundle" But $700 isn't much really. So I'd ask you - WTF? Is that a lot of money to you?

Personally, I think their products are awesome, and I'd vouch for them any day.
