Today is my 34th birthday, and I'm celebrating with this totally self-serving blog post about my dream birthday present.  As far as I know this doesn't exist, but here's what I want this year:

I find myself thinking a lot staring at the screen, drumming on my keyboard with my index fingers along to whatever music I'm listening to.  I'm sure this drives my office mate crazy, but he's never mentioned it.  I've had this idea for a set of USB pressure-sensitive triggers that you could sticky to your keyboard and play drums and it would play in your headphones.

Now, I told my wife this idea, and she thinks I'm crazy, but it's my birthday, so I'm going to post this anyway.  I've thought about making a prototype myself.  But I'm not really sure how to go about it.  Can you program USB with .NET?  I'd imagine so, but of course have never tried it.  Oh well, perhaps this idea will catch on and I'll get one for my birthday next year....
