WSMQ 1.2 Release

I just uploaded the latest version of WSMQ (1.2). Included in this release is Journal Queue archiving functionality, and the ability to manually queue messages through the Web Manager.

Thanks again to Josh Pollard who has been working on this every day with me.  This open source thing is pretty fun!  Speaking of open source, I've been thinking of moving over to SourceForge, because I've been having some problems with GotDotNet.  I'm not totally sure if I'm going to move.  I kind of like the whole spirit of GDN.

Anyhow, you can download the latest release here and here..

Happy queueing...

-Brendan

I know a few projects that "outgrew" the GDN framework and enjoy life with SourceForge better. This isn't from personal experience (I hardly have time to read my friends' blogs anymore!), but just my understanding from others.

Have you had a look at Service Broker, a new asynchronous messaging feature provided by SQL Server 2005?

Yes.. The big thing I like about Service Broker is the transactions capability. It's more of a specific-purpose queuing solution, from what I can tell.

Have you seen the EDRA Framework? I think maybe you can use it to provide transaction support throught Enterprise Services for WSQM.

I haven't seen the code but that is the next thing I'm gonna do. I hope there is a way to integrate your work and maybe extend it in our bussiness context.

Socrates. No I haven't, but I'll definitely take a look. Thanks!
