How to Fail with the RUP: 7 Steps to Pain and Suffering

A good, slightly sarcastic article by Craig Larman (author of the excellent book Applying UML and Patterns) on How to Fail with the Rational Unified Process: Seven Steps to Pain and Suffering.  He definitely gets agile software development, and I think I'm finally convinced that RUP is agile.  However, I think RUP is too easily abused into a waterfall-like methodology and management still has too strong an association between RUP and waterfall.  I think a better approach is to do what Robert Martin did, and make a process instance compliant with RUP and call it something else, like dx.
