New Crystal Reports ad?

With the recent release of everybody's favorite reporting software, Crystal Reports, a secret informer gave me unsubstantiated details of a possible ad campaign for the new version.  Here it is:

I'm just not sure how well this ad will sell software.  I don't know, maybe it's just me.

With so many people thinking it sucks, to admit that it sucked is the only way to convince them it has possibly changed.

Keep you friends close and your enemies even closer : Some languages may be optional, but always install Crystal Reports with VS ;)

Andrew, I always install it but never use it.

Before anyone thinks I am picking on Crystal, I just want to say I speak from experience. We had some complicated reporting needs, and at the time Crystal did not come close to footing the bill. In fact, their rep up at Microsoft would not even help our team when we asked them how to do certain things.

Attitudes like that tend to sour me on the company for a long time.

It's been a long time but I just came across this post again.

I cannot underestimate my dislike of CR. The only time I have earned minimum wage for "programming" was a contract with CR reports.

MS should be a lot more carefull about bundling this kind of thing with their products.

Andrew - heh, glad to see that the wisdom of not liking Crystal Reports is timeless! :)
