But it's seldom the toilet that's the problem. Any, um, sewage-related issues I've experienced during my nineteen-plus years of houseownership have been due to Pipes. Big Pipes that got clogged up and caused a gradual backing up... rather like a slow memory leak that you only notice when swap fills up. Only a full swap partition doesn't smell...
