Selecting the search engine in the Firefox search bar

Ok, this is the last Firefox tip on searching.

You’ve added smart keywords to your search and added custom search engines to Firefox. Now you’re tired of clicking on the little icon to change the search engine you’re using and you need a keyboard shortcut!

Press Ctrl + UP arrow or Ctrl + DOWN arrow to cycle through the search engine choices.

Never mind, I found it. Ctrl-K highlights the search text box. For a complete list of shortcut keys you can go here:

And Darrell, check out this blog for some more ideas about FireFox.

Someone told me about this today...

Try typing "/" (not the quotes)to use incremental searching of text in the page (equivalent of CTRL+I in Visual Studio)... based on the "Vi" editor search...

To find the next instance, once the first instance is found, hit CTRL+F then enter...

This finds both text and links, as opposed to the standard typing-anywhere-in-the-page only finding links.

Antony - you can skip the forward-slash if you enable "Find as you type". Go to Tools -> Options, click Advanced, and under Accessibility click the checkbox for "Find as you type".
