Orlando CodeCamp Rocked - Enterprise Library 2.0 and SQL Server Management Objects Tutorials and Resources

The Orlando CodeCamp '06 was an awesome event. Much thanks to Shawn Weisfeld and Jessica Sterner from the Orlando .NET User Group and Joe Healy, Microsoft Developer Evangelist, for making it happen. Thanks to Russ Fustino for organizing the .NET Pub Club post-event.

There were way too many excellent sessions to pick from, so I want to thank everyone who attended my two sessions, 1) Enterprise Library 2.0 and 2) SQL Server Management Objects. A big thank you for all those who talked with me afterwards and mentioned how much they enjoyed the session(s). That is always good to hear :)

I will have my powerpoint decks and code samples posted before the end of the week, but I know a number of you were interested in a list of my tutorials and other resources on-line, so here is a list of Enterprise Library 2.0 and SMO resources to get started:

Enterprise Library 2.0

I haven't posted any code samples for the Exception Handling Block and Security Application Block on the web, but you will find examples of those in the 15 code samples from the presentation soon to be posted:

MSDN Events: April - June Include Enterprise Library 2.0

Just a reminder that the new MSDN Events from April - June include a segment on Enterprise Library 2.0:

Session 3: Make it Powerful – Exploring the Enterprise Library for the .NET Framework 2.0

Want to kick start your next .NET 2.0 project? It's time to take advantage of the free and reusable Application Blocks that come with the powerful Enterprise Library for .NET Framework 2.0. In this session, we'll examine the design and usage of several Application Blocks that will streamline and simplify your coding. You'll learn how the Application Blocks' architecture embodies Microsoft's best practices and recommendations for .NET-based applications. We'll also show you how to extend the Application Blocks for use in new scenarios.

This session will demonstrate:

  • How data access application blocks can streamline your coding
  • Microsoft's best practices for .NET-based applications
  • How to use and extend the Application Blocks in new scenarios

See the MSDN Events website for more information.

SQL Server Management Objects

Only 3 posted so far, but there are about 10 code samples from the presentation soon to be posted:
