Blogjet

I’ve finally gotten around to installing and trying out blogjet and I have to say that I like it a lot.  It certainly is nice to not have to go to my homepage every time I want to do blogging and the interface for blogjet is clean and easy to use.

The HTML format seems to do just fine, though I still wish that some blog writer would actually give you an option to format your html with indentations ala firefox’s view source.  It’s just that when I’ve been typing a long post I have dificulty finding the section in the html view when all the markup is running together.  Maybe this is just me though, does anyone else work in the html view frequently?

All and all though I’m pretty happy with this tool.  I am going to be using it for all my blogging on CodeBetter.

I got it up and running (thanks for the install tip Eric). I had to use the MetaWebLog API. Anyway, once I got it up and running it did not take long to post a test (to draft). I really like the ability to create a post without firing up the browser and that I can create a draft post. Good feature, especially since the posts often do not look the same when editing them as they do when they are posted.

The one problem I had thus far was when I tried to post a smiley face nor an image. I only spent 2 minutes on this, so maybe I am missing something.

The one feature I really wish it has is an easy way to format code. We blog so much code that it is a real hassle to get the code to look right. Especially since some styles do not work and others get changed when I post them (a CS issue). So mos tof the time I edit my code in VS.NET and then paste it right in the HTML view of CS.

I have high hopes for BlogJet ... so far it looks pretty good, just need to get the images working.
