Mainly for the write on screen capabilities with powerpoint and for "portable surfing" / document management.
I would prefer to not spend too much in the process.
Anyone with recommendations?
I use a Motion Computing LE1600. Insofar as the tablet form factor goes, it's great. It's a pure slate and is well designed. The additional battery is very integrated, for instance.
However, I have reservations on the tablet form factor in general. It's a great concept, but the software just doesn't exist for it. My prediction is that we'll see this type of computer slowly fade away over the next few years.
If you have a few thousand and are interested in a very neat gadget, then go for it, but if you are on a limited budget, it's just not money well spent.
I would recommend, the Toshiba Satellite R-25. Well put together machine, 1Gb ram... Core Duo processors. A friend of mine just picked one up from CompUSA and loves it!
