Well we're done. I'll post fuller reflections another time, but overall, the event went better than the organisers could have hoped. Feedback from all the delegates we spoke to was positive. For everyone, the contributory nature of an Open Spaces event was a refreshing change from the usual passive experience of events, and the level of discourse was high and exceptionally well-informed.
We probably got some things right (giving the Brits a chance to break the ice over a few beers after setting the agenda but before hosting the sessions) and maybe some things wrong (should we have combined sessions on the grid so much), but its all grist for the mill for the next one. And it seems likely that we will do it again, but we will wait at least 6 months for folks to build up a new head of steam.
We have some pages up for the proceedings. Issues with the wireless meant that we did not get as many contemperanous notes as I would have liked, but hopefully folks can fill some in over the next few days. Hopefully folks will tag their blogs with altnetuk so you can pick up reactions on our newsriver.
We did not manage to get video (personal issues for our cameraman) but that is something we can put aside for next time.
Thanks to all our sponsors, but most of all the folks who came, many from far and wide. More over the next few days as I make sense of it all.
