CodeSmith... Buy Now...

Ok, I need to mention something that I don't think anyone else has about CodeSmith 3.0.  It costs money (or at least it looks like it costs money)... even if all you are doing is using the template mode.  Mind you, it's not a lot of money - $49 (at first and then $99 after the introductory period expires), but if you want to get the Pro version -- which in the 3.0 version is very compelling (intellisense in the editor is a good thing) -- then you will have to fork over more money ($299 introductory and $399 afterwards).  I won't complain about the new pricing; Eric has written one of the most useful pieces of software in my library of tools (I rely on it), and up until now I bet most of us who use it have just used the free version.  Soon there will be no free version.

There is a way to reduce the cost of the CodeSmith 3.0 Pro version (I think).  The CodeSmithTools.com web site states that those who have purchased Codesmith Pro 2.x in the last 90 days will receive the 3.0 version for free.  If you bought it beyond the 90 days, the upgrade will be $99.  I just purchased the current (2.x) pro version for $79.  I don't know if I will get the free upgrade or not, but I figure that I will get the $49 upgrade (so if that is true, I will be able to get the pro version of CodeSmith 3.0 for $128 total... I hope I get the upgrade for free though).  You can purchase CodeSmith 2.x Pro here.
