VS 2005 Beta 1 refresh with Team System isn't a new build of VS - level 100

According to the VS 2005 website:

Before you install

The Visual Studio 2005 Beta 1 Refresh is the same as the previous beta release, but now includes a Community Technology Preview (CTP) of Visual Studio 2005 Team System. While betas receive a much higher level of testing and feature work, CTPs are intended to expose developers to the latest working build. The Visual Studio 2005 Beta 1 Refresh is therefore still unsupported pre-release software and there are some precautions you should take. Please make sure you read both the Visual Studio 2005 Readme and the Visual Studio Team System Readme prior to installing this release.

For me, this means that if I currently have Beta 1 installed, there is no reason to uninstall it and then reinstall the same thing from different setup files.  But, if I had downloaded the CTP of VSTS several months ago, then I may want to install that because the VSTS is new bits.

Maybe this will help someone who might think that this is a Beta 1.5 build.

This post seems to contradict the part about not having to uninstall Beta1:

Q: Can I install Visual Studio 2005 Beta 1 Refresh with Visual Studio 2005 Team System on top of Visual Studio 2005 Beta 1?
A: No. To install Visual Studio 2005 Beta 1 Refresh with Visual Studio 2005 Team System, you must first uninstall Visual Studio 2005 Beta 1.

Yeah, I read the Team System's blog. What I meant was that there is no reason to install this refresh at all unless I still want to try out Team System. Since right now I'm only using VS Beta 1, I'm not going to do anything. I'll just continue using the build I have because it's the same build as this new release.

RE: this item - " Also, if I had downloaded the CTP of VSTS several months ago, then I already have what's in these bits."

That's not the case. The Team System bits in this CTP are different than the bits from the May CTP.

Good to know, but the VS 2005 bits are the same, right?

SQL Server Beta 2 folks might find this useful [1]. This also seems consistent w/ the assertion that VS.NET 2005 is the same coz I have 2.0.40607 installed right now. I am just going to blow off VS.NET 2005 and try to install the Refresh from scratch and hopefully my machine will come out of it in one piece :).

[1]:
Thomas' Tip: VS 2005 Beta 1 Refresh uses the most recent build (40607.85) of the .NET Framework, and so must be installed prior to SQL Server 2005 Beta 2 (which includes the older 40607.42). SQL Server Beta 2 will see that the .NET Framework is already installed and just go with that version.
