Last Wish of a Child

There is a boy, Shane,  in a school local to my home town. Shane is dying of cancer and is part of "Make a Wish".  When Make a Wish asked him his wish Shane said he would like 1 million birthday cards for his 8th birthday on May 30th.  There is a large effort underway by means of word of mouth to fufill Shane's birthday wish. If you can spare a moment, please fill out a birthday card for Shane and send it to his school at the following address. Ms Dunkel will make sure they get to Shane.

We all dream that we can make a difference in someone's life. Sometimes it seems impossible that we can make any difference at all alone. But if we pull together, imagine what we can do.

How do I know if this is a real child's wish or not?  Looking on wish.org makes me think it is fake, but I don't want to assume...

Good question.

I don't know how to validate it other than to say I know local school and my children go to a neigboring school and the entire scool is involved in making cards for Shane, as well.

I was skeptical at first, too. We get so many false emails that it makes it tough to figure out which ones are real. Sometimes we just give up (I know I do).

But in this case, early on before I confirmed it with more sources, I determined that whether it was true or not that the chance that it was true is enough for me to send the card,

Perhaps you could contact the school directly. I would not blame you if you did (I know I did).
