• Netscape to Release Hybrid Browser

• Soon it will be illegal to *not* watch commercials

  If the government has its way, this technology (TIVO) will fade away because of this absurd provision.  It torques me just to think that the government is attempting to force me to watch something I don’t want to watch. Excerpt: “The bill has a provision to prohibit technology that skips commercials during a DVD or televised movie; opponents, including advocacy group Public Knowledge, say the provision would make it a crime to fast-forward through a commercial.” John McCain said it best, "Do we really expect to throw people in jail in 2004 for behavior they've been engaged in for more than a quarter century?" • Hunt Via the Internet

  I'm not sure that this is one of the *best* ideas ever conceived... http://news.zdnet.com/2100-9588_22-5455991.html?tag=zdfd.newsfeed  “A controversial Web site, www.live-shot.com, already offers target practice with a .22 caliber rifle and could soon let hunters shoot at deer, antelope and wild pigs, site creator John Underwood said Tuesday.“ This is not hunting.  This will be just shooting up animals from the internet for pure entertainment and should not even be remotely considered hunting.  I hope Texas does the right thing here and outlaws this.  I don't have anything against hunting, but come on, this just is not it. • Why Firefox could win the new browser war

  Ben English and Steve Vamos seem to be out of touch.  They really are not listening to their customers. If they were, Firefox wouldn't have taken the percentage of the browser market that they have --in such a short amount of time.   I hope their attitude does not reflect the attitude of Microsoft as a whole.  If this is the general attitude of the company, Firefox will come to dominance rather quickly.  “Microsoft's English reiterated that features such as tabbed browsing are not important to IE users.” “Vamos, who admitted he has never used Firefox, said there is a lot of hype surrounding the open-source movement and if Microsoft's customers wanted new features, they would have told the company about it.” Read on here. --Mark Posted Nov 11 2004, 11:34 AM by mdigiovanni with 7 comment(s)
