Filing the PDC. On disk

Mr postman just brought me the PDC DVD's. Lovely, a load of the best presentations of the PDC on video. Quality is good, except for (sometimes) the sound. Which is no wonder with Douglas Purdy's preachings. I had also ordered the official PDC DVD kit, which was delivired a couple of weeks ago. Which was a bit disapointing. It did contain all the sessions. But only the slides and the soundtrack. No moving images...

Together the disks make a nice PDC file. And it's time to remove the we'll be there logo from my home page. I'm allready looking forward to the next conference.

So far I've just received the official set...my initial reaction was the same as yours (bit disappointed with the lack of video, and thinking what *were* those people with video cameras doing at every presentation I went to?), but that is a serious volume of stuff, so quite possibly space considerations prevented it.

There actually *are* moving images, just not of people talking. The demos are movies (I wish the quality were a bit better in some cases - often the text of code requires a bit of imagination).

Another oddity: I first thought that MBL317 ("Under the Covers: Windows Mobile Device Platform Futures (Pocket PC and Smartphone))" was not on the DVD, because it doesn't appear in the index. But actually it's there. I seriously hope that doesn't mean MS are distancing themselves from the content, because that was seriously cool stuff and gave me a lot of enthusiasm for the future of Windows Mobile.

I just had hoped to see the speakers talk. Which makes the story so much easier to follow. There was too much to see on the PDC, on location I concentrated on the Whidbey track. The mobile stuff is something I'm catching up upon. From disk.
