Comment spam, Outlook 2003 and .text

When your blog gets spammed you receive an email notification. And can take action. Outlook has a spam filter; it will dump (some of) these spam comments in the Junk mail folder. And you'll miss it. There is only one solution: again and again I'm begging for an update of the .text engine. Not to mention the problem on getting anything posted before it gets spammed, like Stefano has described.

if you are using Outlook 2003, set up a rule so that emails from the address dotnetjunkies uses to send the nofications will go into a specific mailbox.

Could do that, but my point is that action should (and afaik can) be taken server-side.

Yes, DotNetJunkies weblogs are experiencing growing pains. Comment Spam and the Server Errors are big obstacles to overcome. Maybe http://scottwater.com/blog/archive/2004/11/17/CS_Beta_One will be the answer?

There is a newer vesrion of .text which fixes these things (as the rumour goes). According to Donny & Dough updating the site to that is no small job. Was promissed for a couple of weeks ago, still pending. Jumping to to comuunity server will be a jump to far ?
