Working with a third-party menu control

I'm starting to work with a third-party menu control by telerik.  This is a company based out of Bulgaria with an office in the US. I've used their r.a.d. menu indirectly with a webgrid product that implements the telerik product for context menu purposes.  I've been playing with the code samples and exploring their site.  So far I'm very impressed.  I especially like the control over the menu on the client-side.  The look and feel of these menus is top-notch from what I've seen so far.

The menu samples they include with their install package are even better than what they have on their site and illustrates many ways to create the menus.  I've always had to implement menus of my own in the past, and now I can take the time to check out a third party tool and integrate it.  I'll be blogging about the experiences shortly - looking at the product as well as support and bits about their other products.

We started using telerik about 3 months ago because of their association with Intersoft. We were growing tired of Infragistics limited style flexibility and if their latest hotfix breaks existing code because they changed API. Using telerik's editor, spell checker, and WebGrid we've come up with a heck of OWA clone embedded into our application.

Hi Paul!

You guys stopped using the Intersoft Grid? I started looking at the telerik grid last night, but I haven't had much time to check it out. Now I need to check that out more closely.

I figure I'll start with the menus, and then move on to the tab control or grid next. I really like their editor from what I've seen, but I haven't had a chance to dig into the sample code yet. Are you using the editor for some workflow pieces?

I hope everything is going well!

No, were still using WebGrid.NET, just too lazy to type the full name. I was surprised it didn't place in the "Best of" contests a few magazines put out. It's by far the most functional grid for ASP.NET I've come across.

Thanks for clearing that up - I definitely agree on Intersoft and I wonder why more magazines haven't picked up on it yet.

I noticed Microsoft is baking the partial-postback capability into ASP.NET 2.0. I wonder if other grid vendors will start to create more functional grids using that approach.

I've switched jobs recently, the past 5 months have been pretty crazy. I'm not working with the Intersoft product as much anymore - I'm pushing on some other development areas right now.
