On Windows:
- Go to C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\searchplugins
- Each search engine has two files; a .src and either a .png or a .gif file. All you have to do is delete the two files for the search engine you wish to remove (for example google.src and google.gif) and restart Firefox.
Thank you very very much Joe.
Not sure if anyone posted a procedure for the Mac fiends (I mean fans).
1. Go to Applications\Firefox
2. Right click and select "Show Package Contents"
3. Go to Mac OS\searchplugins
4. Delete the .src file and the .gif/.png file for the engine you want to remove
Excellent. You were ranked number 1 for me.
Thank you, because I wasn’t sitting here going "duhhhh…".
Your page ranked number 3 on my Google search.
Thank you, because I was sitting here going "duhhhhh…".
Thanks! I couldn’t figure it out because I was looking in %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\.
It’s not as simple as it should be, but then again, it’s only a version 1.0 product.
so simple, I should have been able to figure this one out on my own! but thanks for filling me in
