I have never used an online subversion or git hosting service for my personal source control needs other than a few open source projects. Recently, however, Unfuddle was kind enough to sponsor the Tampa ASP.NET MVC Developer Group with complementary subversion and git hosting so that we can host projects as a means for learning and teaching team-based ASP.NET MVC Web Development.
Over the past few days I have been using Unfuddle to host the source control for our group website and the experience has been great. The performance and availability have been awesome. Of course, it has only been a few days, but this is very promising!
Today for kicks I installed their Mac Widget, which allows me yet another way to stay up on activity ( as well as do other things ) as if RSS, Email, and a Callback Url was not enough
Being a Mac guy and the fact that I love using Widgets to handle a lot of my day-to-day needs, this is just icing on the cake:
I hope my experience is good so I can dump subversion from my server in the office and just use Unfuddle for my own projects. This would give me a chance to learn git, too.
If you are interested in trying Unfuddle for yourself, I would start with the free account option.
Very cool stuff!
Yes unfuddle is fine but a friend found another great place with Subversion 1 GB with SSL, including bug tracking and wiki
http://xp-dev.com/
Enjoy it
Liam,
I can’t wait to try those features. The idea of having all those features consolidated in one place is much more attractive than I first thought.
I love unfuddle. The web application side of their service, with bug tracking and wiki, is one of my favourite web apps.
