Why Messaging #3 – What did I read?

I just finished presenting at the Iowa Code Camp and one of the little change ups that I did in this presentation was talk about the various books that I have read. So, if you have decided to pursue messaging as an architectural style to use, here are some reads for your next steps. These sources are also usually going to be the source of information for the following posts. Please leave additional resources you like in the comments. :)

Dru, I’ve been reading your series about messaging and I was wondering if you considered using BizTalk? From the requirements you mentioned it would seem like a good match. There is an implementation of ESB concepts on top of BizTalk as well (www.codeplex.com/ESB).

@Jarin: Actually I did consider BizTalk and ruled it out for a couple of reasons. 1. The price tag, I just couldn’t make the case for that much money on a concept that was still in the initial testing stages. 2. I am no BizTalk expert, but I was concerned about the testibility of such a program. 3. I didn’t want to have to install BizTalk onto my dev machines. 4. I am a big ol’ nerd and wanted to write something myself to better understand the problems we are trying to solve. :)
