Release Date: December 5, 2007

Included in this release:

CAPTCHA for Community Server 2007 with AJAX

The CAPTCHA control is implemented as a Control Adapter, which allows CAPTCHA functionality to be added to Community Server without touching the ASPX code of each individual blog/site skin.

Added to this release is support for AJAX CAPTCHA Validation on the server, eliminating the need to store the CAPTCHA code in a cookie.

KickIt! for Community Server 2007

Adds "Kick It" image to the bottom of each post for creating a "You've Been Kicked" trackback at DotNetKicks.Com

Dang it! I wanted to be FIRST to download the new Brendan Tompkins CAPTCHA, but it turns out I'm FIFTH! Thanks so much for creating the control and making it available, Brendan.

You probably were the first. I downloaded it 5 times myself, just to appear popular.

Can't unzip; have tried with Windows Explorer, WinZip 11.1, WinRAR :-( The file should be corrupt...

I've had this problem previously with other downloads from CodeBetter. If I recall correctly, I had to use FireFox to get a non-corrupt download (both IE 6 and IE 7 were downloading a different size file than what it was actually supposed to be). Worth a shot anyway.

As I mentioned on a CS Bit, I had trouble with WinRar, but Winzip gave me no trouble at all.

Hi! :) i just today spend 2 hours to rewrite Captcha from Dave Burke to working in CS 2007, but after i rewrite it, found some questions. I see that both you and Dave store Captcha code in cookie :) i store it in Page.Session :) So question: if you store it in Cookie you don't think that any client can also see it, without image processings etc? ;-) I.e. i can right now on this page View Cookie in my Firefox! What for then your captcha? Just to have user new task? ;-) Or i am wrong? ;-)

I agree with Evereq, the Captcha is NOT working! There is some bot which looks at the cookie and enters the numbers. I get a lot of spam comments with this on my blog. Is there an updated version which does not use cookies?

When I go to download the app it always comes back saying it's corrupt. Am I the only one seeing this issue?

Is there any way to get the captcha control to work for a forum post?

Another vote for having it work with forum posts for guests (when guest posting is enabled).

Nice one, the KickIt extension took me about 30 seconds to configure and works perfectly.
