Vinayak Tadas [MSFT] has just released a really good post about the new sequencing features found in the Commerce Server 2007 Catalog subsystem. You can sequence categories, subcategories, products and variants in both base catalogs and virtual catalogs. You can also sequence relationships and enumeration values used in catalogs. Just about everything you can think of in the catalog can be sequenced.
Don’t forget, since the new CatalogItemsDataSet inherits from the System.Data.DataSet, you can also use the DefaultViewManager property to filter and sort rows differently in your site code if needed.
