New Job, and Moving to New York

While I'm sad to leave Austin and Texas behind, I'm happy to announce that I am starting a new position as an Agile Coach and .Net Consultant with Finetix in New York on Monday.  Which also means that I've added this bit of language to the blog skin:

All opinions expressed here constitute my (Jeremy D. Miller's) personal
opinion, and do not necessarily represent the opinion of any other
organization or person, including (but not limited to) my fellow
employees, my employer, its clients or their agents.

The blog will be going dark for about a week as I make the drive to NY and start to settle in at work.  In the meantime, I'm busy trying to fit as much Tex Mex food in this week as I possibly can.  While in Austin, I had a chance to work with and know a lot of great
developers and I'll miss you all, but the world's a smaller place than
it used to be and we'll bump into each other again.

About Jeremy Miller

Jeremy is the Chief Software Architect at Dovetail Software, the coolest ISV in Austin. Jeremy began his IT career writing "Shadow IT" applications to automate his engineering documentation, then wandered into software development because it looked like more fun. Jeremy is the author of the open source StructureMap tool for Dependency Injection with .Net, StoryTeller for supercharged acceptance testing in .Net, and one of the principal developers behind FubuMVC. Jeremy's thoughts on all things software can be found at The Shade Tree Developer at http://codebetter.com/jeremymiller.

Congrats, and don’t be afraid to look me up. I’ll be at the NYC Bar Camp (held in the MSFT office in Midtown) this weekend.

Oh, and not to burst your bubble about Finetex, but you should have talked to me first (not that you actually know me) ;) A friend of mine just left there. Well, maybe that isn’t the best source of info, a former employee. Remember, I’m an indie consultant, so I’m biased.

    Congrats,

As someone who used to live in NY and fled to lower tax shores I hope you negotiated some extra salary to cover the tons of extra taxes you’ll be paying in NYC. ;-)

Congrats, drive safe, and good luck. If your coaching is only half as good as your writing, there will be a vast improvement in code coming from NY.
