Solving 2 pesky Windows behaviors

I wanted to share 2 tricks I found on the web that are solving 2 pesky Windows behaviors.

First, once you spend some precious time organizing properly your icons on the desktop, Windows puts a point in completely messing up your organization as soon as you change the screen resolution or as you plug/unplug a second screen. There is an effective workaround to this, find it here.

Second, Windows Vista explorer just assumes too often that folders contains pictures and video. Scott Hansleman proposed a nice workaround to this here.

Actually, if you do have a desktop full of icons, I think you’re better off looking at stardock fences ( ).
I showed it to a couple of friends with iconomania and they loved it to death.
